Artistry and feeling with smudges of light, texture and shade, photographer Svetlana Peric: “I am trying to convey emotion. To tell stories untold.”

Introducing our 144th featured photographer, Svetlana Peric (ceca67) from Baden, Switzerland! Svetlana is an artist with a sensitive feel for the moment which shines forth in her every shot. With a wide variety of captures ranging from landscape and travel to portraiture, conceptual and macro, it’s the creative artistry in her that makes her photos visibly stand out from the rest! Artistry and feeling with smudges of light, texture and shade… Svetlana’s images are a visual provocation to intrigue and inspire!
“My name is Svetlana ,
I was born in Bosnia (EX Yugoslavia) and
I lived there till my 18 when I moved to Belgrade – Serbia , to study, and stayed there a
big part of my life, actually, till five years ago when I got
married and moved to Switzerland.
While I had an interest in photography from an early age, I didn’t
begin “for real” shooting till I came in Switzerland, and I never really thought about photography as an art,
till my Swiss days.
Initially, it started out just as a way to bring the wonder of these
beautiful places home for friends and family to see, but eventually I
wanted more from my images.
I wanted to tell million stories of my experiences …..to reflect my engagement with my surrounding….
I wanted to speak for my innerself….
to show conceptual side…
and
to compose the visual music…to bring others feeling of
peace,happiness and harmony …
I wanted to show my photos as a calm, meditative, intriguing, alive…
I am trying to convey emotion. To tell stories untold.
For me, in photography, the most important thing is “The Light”.
I am always trying to find it, catch it and make it eternal on my pics.
Freedom,time,memories,moments,stories,adventure,desire,love,passion,harmony,sense,life,fantasy,touch,pain, simplicity,longing, seduction,choices,happiness,light,darkness,temptation,seeker
of truth,questions…..
………. Emotions……………. my art.
Enjoy…”

A tribute to his inner love for the Scottish and Northern English landscape, photographer MarkLJ’s images are packed with emotion, soft-toned and dreamy, picture perfect in every detail!

Mark Littlejohn (MarkLJ) is a talented photographer whose love for nature and hiking has taken him on a photographic journey! A tribute to his inner love for the Scottish and Northern English landscape, Mark’s images are packed with emotion, soft-toned and dreamy, picture perfect in every detail! Below are but a few of Mark’s breathtaking images! You can’t help but be inspired!
I’m a Scot who has lived on the edge of the English Lake District for nearly 20 years and have been a keen fell walker for some time. During the cold spell in early 2010 I saw some amazing views and decided that maybe photography might be a nice hobby. Bought a wee Pentax K-X in February 2010 and started taking pictures during my hikes. Fairly soon the photography began to rival the walking as the reason for going out on the fells. By October last year I was going out purely to take photographs with my favourite location being Ullswater. I’ve started to play more with long exposures as I like the effects on the colour at dawn and dusk. I’m not sure I’ve settled down into the type of images I want but I know I’m not bothered if I leave reality behind. I intend to go part time at work over the next few months which will hopefully allow me more time to pursue my hobby. I just love being out there at Dawn and dusk watching the colours changing hue and trying to capture those moments is a wonderful challenge.
I wish I’d taken it up many years ago.

Photographer Tim Poulton, is a natural! His unique way of seeing translates in an ability to single out that emotional response in any image!
Posted by Arnaud | Filed under Landscape, Macro, Photographers
What makes some photographers so outstanding? I think we can confidently say that good photographers have an “eye”. Some learn it, others may have a natural ability. While skill, knowledge, dedication, and experience play an important role, creativity is what defines and separates outstanding photographers from others. Our 40th featured photographer Tim Poulton, is a natural! His unique way of seeing translates in an ability to single out that emotional response in any image.
“My name is Timothy Poulton, I’m a photographer living in Sydney, Australia. The vast majority of my photographs are panoramic landscapes from the east coast of Australia, though I also love taking macro shots of insects. One of my images, “Shocking Bondi’, won the 2009 International Landscape Awards. It depicts a series of lightning strikes during a storm that lashed Bondi Beach in 2008. More recently”Purple Rain”, an image of a Jumping Spider (Salticidae), won the Australian Museum Up Close and Spineless competition and this image as well as other will be displayed in all Australian Museums during 2011. ??
My passion for visual imagery dates to the early ’90s when I joined forces with Katie Little to launch a graphic design business One Of A Kind Media Group. It is now a business working for famous fashion labels, music festivals, shopping centers and retail outlets. This was what originally attracted me to fashion photography. Building the business and raising a family with Katie meant that there was little time for photography until my interest was rekindled by my brother Peter Anthony.
I replaced my aging Hasselblad with Nikon camera bodies and Carl Ziess Lenses and fell in love with landscape photography. My panoramic images come from locations up and down the coast of Australia, Tasmania and Bangkok.
In 2010 my brother and I started Leading Lines Photography to share our art. We have plans to start a photography school as well”.
Here are some of the beautiful shots of Timothy Poulton!

When the light, angle and clouds all seem to just fall into place is it magic? Steve’s technical expertise and “know how” makes the real magic happen.
Posted by Arnaud | Filed under HDR, Landscape, Photographers, Urban
Our 42nd artist is outstanding land/seascape photographer Steve Skinner (aka sjs61)! Based in San Diego, California, Steve makes landscape photography look easy! When the light, angle and clouds all seem to just fall into place is it magic? Steve’s technical expertise and “know how” makes the real magic happen.
Steve talks about himself and his photography:
“I am now retired and have been lucky enough to call myself a “bum” for almost 6 years now. I graduated from College as a Fine Arts Major and was under the delusional idea that I could make a living as an artist. Wrong!!! After a few years as a retail sales person, an Insurance Agent and various other positions I got involved in the technology industry. I made a decent living traveling around the world and through most of the Western US selling and training other sales people how to sell my company’s product.
I currently live in the North County of San Diego and I have always loved the beach. I have been a surfer for over 40 years and gave it up a little less than 3 years ago because I lost that “stoke”". Realizing I needed a “hobby”, my son, who is the real photographer in the family, sold me one of his DSLR’s and some lenses. He also changed my view of photography by showing me what HDR could do.
Most of my images are of the ocean, clouds, beaches or those people that are found there.
It is truly an honor to be in included with these great photographers that you see here.
Best regards,
Steve Skinner”

Dollia Sheombar is an artist that sees and notices things unlike any other! “So many years watching through the viewfinder has definitely changed my world view!”
Posted by Arnaud | Filed under HDR, Landscape, Photographers, Urban
Our 35th featured photographer, is an artist that “sees and notices things” unlike any other! Dollia Sheombar (DolliaSH) from Rotterdam, the Netherlands is graced with an eye for composition out of the ordinary and an extraordinary ability with light and color! Dollia says:
“So many years, watching through the viewfinder has definitely changed my world view.”
Something about me:
“My name is Dollia Sheombar and I’m from Rotterdam, in The Netherlands.
I have been living almost my whole life in The Netherlands, but my roots go back to India.
As an IT Professional I work for the government and large Dutch companies.
Among other things Photography has been my main hobby for a long time. My first memory of shooting is linked to the house of my parents where on the walls there were always a lot of photographs. As a kid I was fascinated by the fact that it is possible to “freeze” the moment of our lives forever. And that “freeze” factor was what really got me interested in photography.
I mainly photograph landscapes and cityscapes. I’m completely self taught in pretty much everything I do.
My biggest frustration right now is that I have very limited, well actually no time for my hobby. I really envy others that can plan days for shooting, something I would love to do too.
Going through my stream you will also discover that I’m a heavy Photoshop user, although I try to keep my images “real” as much as possible.
Cheers, Dollia Sheombar”
