Artist’s statement:
It was in early 2004 when first I looked through the viewfinder of an SLR – it was a friend’s Canon EOS 300 (Film). Ever since I have been hooked to photography.
Over these years I have owned a couple of Film SLRs – Canon EOS 300 and Nikon F75. My first DSLR was a Nikon D50 which I still have. No sooner I got this my learning and creativity graph kept climbing higher. But, its taken off in the last few months of being active on flickr and being inspired by the work of some awesome photographers in my contacts.
Today I own the following
Bodies
2 Nikon D90
Nikon D50
Lenses
Nikkor 18 – 200 VR
Tokina 11 – 16 F2.8
Nikkor 50mm F1.8
Tripod
Manfrotto 190 XDB
Head
Manfrotto 496 RC2 Ball Head
Bag
Lowepro Back Pack (not sure which one)
I almost messed up my D50 trying to clean the sensor for the first time. Ever since I hate changing lenses on my DSLRs. As far as possible I try an avoid it. I know it kinda sounds beginnerish….but I cant really help this. I suffer from NAS (Nikon Acquisition Syndrome), something which doesn’t go down very well with my wife and my wallet…:-).
The Himalayas have always fascinated me. I had been wanting to go to Leh since 1996 but just couldn’t do it. Flying to Leh was never an option. I finally embarked, on what had by then become a Spiritual Journey for my soul, in 2009. Loved every bit of it. I am sure I will keep going back to that part of the world again and again.
As of now I mainly shoot landscapes.I am however really keen on Street Photography and would love to get better at it.
I like to keep my pictures as close to how the camera spits them out as possible. Mostly all I do with my images is adjust the curves, vibrancy and sharpening. This can also be attributed to the fact that I am no PhotoShop Guru. The 3:2 aspect ratio of pictures is not really my favourite. Thus I often chop (crop) my images. When I look through the viewfinder I keep two principles in mind before I release the shutter
1. KISS – Keep it simple stupid.
2. Its all about composition.
I guess that is all I have to say about myself and my hobby.
Happy Clicking Guys
