Ré Création

“Hello, my name is Anne-Marie. I live between Bordeaux and the Arcachon Basin in South West of France.
I bought my first camera (Minolta XG-M) with my first salary and it’s still in order. I really became a serial shooter with my first digital camera 6 years ago.

Seascapes are my favorite subjects. I adore walking by the ocean or the Arcachon Basin at sunset or at the blue hour : it makes me feel optimistic. I also love shooting cityscapes at night because of the atmosphere ; animals (especially funny birds), children…

A dear friend of mine taught me how to take long exposures and I’m now playing with my ND filters like a kid with a toy.

I would like to try other subjects like misty landscapes, portraits in B&W and chiaroscuro, architecture… The most difficult for me is to take candid shots because it seems to me I’m steeling a bit of people’s life… but I want to learn that too.

Photo is a fantastic way to meet people you would never have heard of, and to discover other ways of living and thinking. I’m always amazed when I wander in this group’s fantastic images : they make me dream, learn and want to progress. Thank you all for that ! :-) ”.

——————————————————————————

English:

I was born in a village near Kassel/Germany in 1950 and have grown up there. Since the early 70s I discovered my love for photography. It started with some cameras with which I was not particularly happy because my dream camera at that young age was just too expensive.

But after a few years ago I finally bought a Nikon F3 with some lenses. For many years onwards this camera accompanied me and my family on our camping tours throughout Europe, up to the era of digital photography. At first I was skeptical, it took a while to convince myself of this technology, but most of the digital cameras then were small and handy, no more heavy lenses, etc. and it wasn’t long before I had my Nikon Coolpix 885. My ideas about photography and speed though did not comply with this model. I then decided to buy my third Nikon, a D300, since I still had more than one matching Nikon lenses.

Also by chance I came across “Flickr”, where I found so many gifted and amateur photographers and their extraordinary photos there. At that time I was no longer working and had time to edit my photos and to dedicate more time to my new hobby. The many techniques I found there gave me a broad spectrum and my use depends on the style and effect I want to achieve. Personally I find work with “textures” most appealing. I am aware that not everybody may like my particular photography techniques, but my hope is to inspire some people with it.

Outstanding photographer Boris Frkovic! “I love taking pictures of nature, it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration because of the diversity of colors and scenes, regardless of the season and time of day”.

I think we all agree that photography is an art! Our 151st featured artist is Boris Frkovic a photographer with a true passion for the medium! Boris photographs with his heart and while his skill as a photographer is clearly evident  Boris’ s photographs go beyond mere documentation capturing the emotion and joy of the moment! Boris uses his processing skills to bring out the magic in every scene and give them that unique sense of timelessness they all seem to have! We invite you to browse this incredible photographer’s stream only a sampling of which is presented below!

Boris

Something about me:
************************************************************
I live and work in Zagreb, picturesque central European city with interesting architecture whose history goes back all the way to the late 11th century. Of special interest is the old part of the city, the Upper Town, which is the oldest part of the city and has a great view over the both sides of Sava river.
By profession I am computer programmer, and photography is my hobby and passion. I love to take pictures of nature and city. I’ve made my first steps in photography in 1974 when I bought my first camera, Smena 8M. It was then that I became familiar with chemicals and processes used for film development. Due to personal and business obligations I spent less time on photography during the 80s and the 90s, and mostly took pictures to fill the family albums.
I started to photograph more actively three years ago when I bought my first DSLR, PENTAX K200D.

I love taking pictures of nature, it is an inexhaustible source of inspiration because of the diversity of colours and scenes, regardless of the season and time of day. During the week I like going to Savica lakes in the suburbs of Zagreb. There you can find a beautiful nature with diverse flora and fauna. It’s a great place to experiment with framing. At the moment TAMRON 10-24 is my favorite lens for taking pictures of nature and city life. I love HDR, and most of my photos are HDR’s.

Thanks for your time and hope you enjoy the pictures,
regards, Boris

“Trabajo como médico dentista , de 53 años de edad y soy aficionado a la fotografía desde los 18 años. Siempre he utilizado fotograía analógica, hasta que fue necesario utiliar las camaras digitales para mi profesión.

Utilizo la fotografia para distraerme , aunque tengo un buen archivo , asi que frecuentemente me piden algunas fotos para libros o publicaciones.

En mis fotos solo quiero mostrar las cosas que admiro o me llenan de emoción”

When the light, angle and clouds all seem to just fall into place is it magic? Steve’s technical expertise and “know how” makes the real magic happen.

Our 42nd artist is outstanding land/seascape photographer Steve Skinner (aka sjs61)! Based in San Diego, California, Steve makes landscape photography look easy! When the light, angle and clouds all seem to just fall into place is it magic? Steve’s technical expertise and “know how” makes the real magic happen.

Steve Skinner 2008 0126_03

Steve talks about himself and his photography:

“I am now retired and have been lucky enough to call myself a “bum” for almost 6 years now. I graduated from College as a Fine Arts Major and was under the delusional idea that I could make a living as an artist. Wrong!!! After a few years as a retail sales person, an Insurance Agent and various other positions I got involved in the technology industry. I made a decent living traveling around the world and through most of the Western US selling and training other sales people how to sell my company’s product.

I currently live in the North County of San Diego and I have always loved the beach. I have been a surfer for over 40 years and gave it up a little less than 3 years ago because I lost that “stoke”". Realizing I needed a “hobby”, my son, who is the real photographer in the family, sold me one of his DSLR’s and some lenses. He also changed my view of photography by showing me what HDR could do.

Most of my images are of the ocean, clouds, beaches or those people that are found there.

It is truly an honor to be in included with these great photographers that you see here.

Best regards,

Steve Skinner”

Dollia Sheombar is an artist that sees and notices things unlike any other! “So many years watching through the viewfinder has definitely changed my world view!”

Our 35th featured photographer, is an artist that “sees and notices things” unlike any other! Dollia Sheombar (DolliaSH) from Rotterdam, the Netherlands is graced with an eye for composition out of the ordinary and an extraordinary ability with light and color! Dollia says:
“So many years, watching through the viewfinder has definitely changed my world view.”

dollia shoembar IMG_5943_1024pix

Something about me:

“My name is Dollia Sheombar and I’m from Rotterdam, in The Netherlands.
I have been living almost my whole life in The Netherlands, but my roots go back to India.
As an IT Professional I work for the government and large Dutch companies.

Among other things Photography has been my main hobby for a long time. My first memory of shooting is linked to the house of my parents where on the walls there were always a lot of photographs. As a kid I was fascinated by the fact that it is possible to “freeze” the moment of our lives forever. And that “freeze” factor was what really got me interested in photography.

I mainly photograph landscapes and cityscapes. I’m completely self taught in pretty much everything I do.

My biggest frustration right now is that I have very limited, well actually no time for my hobby. I really envy others that can plan days for shooting, something I would love to do too.

Going through my stream you will also discover that I’m a heavy Photoshop user, although I try to keep my images “real” as much as possible.

Cheers, Dollia Sheombar” :)
