Says Kani: “I believe that when one begins to understand the sorts and the different qualities of light, nature opens the doors for limitless creativity. I find that patience, enthusiasm and curiosity are key elements on the way of being a successful photographer”.
I am sure you will all agree, Kani is one photographer you won’t easily forget!
Artist’s statement:
I am living in a touristic resort of Turkey called Bodrum where I own a travel company KLS VOYAGES. I made my first photos, for the brochure of my travel company in 2006.
That was the beginning of an endless adventure for me. Then, it became a way of life and the times I spend with my camera, the best moments of my life. After professionally guiding the tourists in my country for many years, I was discovering alone, some beautiful parts of the land where I live. Maybe these words you have heard many times but it is impossible not to be impressed by the beauty of the nature surrounding us. It evokes the explorer nature of your soul and enforces the creativity.
I have a very simple life and I think it also influences the way I see the world as well as my style in photography. I think, I can describe my self as landscape and travel photographer. Beside that, I also like to photograph individuals in their natural life.
I like to show in my photos the beauties of my country to the world from my eyes. While making them, the composition and the quality of light are the most important components for me. Furthermore, I believe that when one begins to understand the sorts and the different qualities of light, the nature opens the doors for limitless creativity. I find that the patience, enthusiasm and the curiosity are the key elements on the way of being a successful photographer.

An artist with a story: the brilliant photography of Nejdet Düzen!
Posted by Arnaud | Filed under HDR, Landscape, Photographers, Urban
To achieve brilliant photography you need practice and patience. However, with that little bit of dedication and love of the art the results can be truly stunning. Our 36th featured photographer is just that person! Nejdet Düzen is an artist with a story, his passion and deliberation has produced some of the most beautiful examples of sea/landscape photography from his native homeland Turkey!
“I am from Turkey. I began photography after getting a compact camera as a gift from my son in 2006. The first site which I sent my photos to was ”Wow Turkey”, but my photos were deleted by the group administrators.:))
From then I began to develop my photographic skills shooting mostly landscapes and historical sites. After I discovered Flicker I met many good photographers and I now have friends from all over the world who share my experience and passion for photography.
It was also here on flickr that I first became introduced to the photographic tecnique HDR which caught my interest. After many inquieries and work in developing my style I primarily use this technique as you will see from my photos. The HDR process can help achieve many goals with light and color.
My second camera was Fuji Fine Pix S6500, very much like an SLR. Now I use a Nikon D90.
I love to photograph landscapes, historical places, buildings and monuments, especially in the ancient settlements around Izmir.
My biggest dream is to work for a travel magazine and travel all around Turkey as well as other countries. However, because of my job it seems impossible for the time being”.
Here is a sampling of the wonderful magic of Nejdet Düzen:
